Afro-Canadian Positive Network of BC

Establishes networks for peer education and knowledge-sharing for immigrants, refugees, and Canadians of African backgrounds impacted by HIV/AIDS. Provides a variety of culturally appropriate services in several languages, including Swahili, Amharic, and English. Services include food for monthly community gatherings; a community kitchen; health and wellness information; nutrition information; safer sex and harm reduction education; English literacy programs and tutoring; settlement-related information; housing support and advocacy; peer support training; referral to community services; and public awareness education. Programs are located throughout Surrey. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded in part by Fraser Health.
