BC Black History Awareness Society

Celebrates the achievements of Black people in British Columbia and brings awareness to the past and present social, political, economic, athletic, artistic, and intellectual achievements of the Black community. Aims to increase understanding, promote diversity, and overcome stereotypes. Provides public education through exhibits, commendations, conferences, workshops, and presentations. Promotes anti-racism through projects to include Black history in schools, museums, and other institutions. Also works directly with educators in schools and libraries within the Greater Victoria area and in other parts of BC. The online Learning Centre offers a selection of educational resources. Funded in part by Government of Canada. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
