BC Public Interest Advocacy Centre (BCPIAC)

Aims to advocate for and advance the interests of groups that are generally unrepresented/under-represented in issues of major public concern, with an emphasis on utilities regulation and anti-poverty work. Current area of focus is on addressing energy poverty and the cost of utility services. Represents low and fixed income groups before courts, administrative tribunals, and regulatory bodies. Also works with other service providers to ensure the most effective allocation of resources, and operates as a community resource for advocacy, analysis, public education, and information. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society.
