Provides positive public education about blindness in order to improve the social and employment opportunities of blind people. Also provides opportunities for blind people to meet for support, networking, mentorship, and self-improvement. Walking Proud Program provides long, white canes to blind people free of charge. Technology Share Program accepts donations of old computers that are refurbished and given to blind people in need. Also provides information on how to secure funding for adaptive software such as screen-reading programs. The Mentoring Program pairs blind individuals to provide support to increase self-confidence, Braille literacy, orientation, mobility, and general independence.
