Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC)

Independent regulatory agency of the federal government responsible for promoting, protecting, and informing on human rights in Canada. Ensures that the principles of equal opportunity and non-discrimination in the workplace are followed in all areas of federal jurisdiction. Provides information, education, and investigation into complaints of discrimination filed under the Canadian Human Rights Act. Also conducts employment equity audits of federally-regulated employers and monitors progress under the Employment Equity Act. Hours are 8 am to 8 pm Eastern time Monday to Friday.
