Supports people with all disabilities to live with dignity and independence, and as equal and full participants in society, through direct services, community partnerships, advocacy, research, and publications. Direct services include helping individuals apply for and appeal the denial of provincial and federal (Canada Pension Plan) disability benefits, applying for the disability tax credit and registered disability savings plan, filing taxes, and providing legal advice and representation for people who have been discriminated against based on their disability. Produces publications to the community free of charge, including 'Transition,' a quarterly magazine, and help sheets related to income supports, taxes, and the legal system. Serves people across BC. Services are free and by appointment only; no drop-in services provided. Appointments can be made for in-person or virtual. Services are available in other languages via interpretation upon request.
