Represents the interests of physicians in BC, strives to improve health care for all residents in BC, and advocates for a fair health care system for all patients. Supports physicians in their relations with the community, develops health care policies and promotion initiatives, and negotiates compensation for physicians with the provincial government. Collaborates with the BC government through joint committees that develop programs and initiatives to improve BC's health care system and deliver quality patient care through provincial and local groups, including Divisions of Family Practice. Focus includes training for physicians, support for primary care physicians, rural programs, and health promotion. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
