Eastside Family Place

Support and resource drop-in centre for parents/caregivers and their young children from birth to six years of age. Provides direct support, referrals, parenting groups and workshops, resource listings, developmentally stimulating play opportunities, and a space for parents and caregivers to connect with each other. Offers Nobody's Perfect, a free, six-week parenting program. Programs for children include Family Rhythm, Rhyme, and Movement, a four-week song, rhyme, and story program; and Healthy Together, weekly family cooking classes. Offers a community gardening program in the summer. Also offers a clothing exchange and a food cupboard supported through community donations. Occasional Licensed Childcare is available weekday mornings; phone 604-251-1018 for information. There is a nominal annual membership fee which gives free access to all the workshops, parenting, and children's programs; can be waived for low-income parents. Daily drop-in fee is $3. Family drop-in hours are from 9 am to 12 noon Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 1 pm to 2:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
