ERASE (Expect Respect And a Safe Education)

Focus is on creating a school environment where students are free from discrimination, bullying, harassment, intimidation and violence; where clear expectations of acceptable behaviour are held for all members of the school community; and where there is a sense of connectedness. Helps to ensure that every child feels safe, accepted, and respected, regardless of gender, race, culture, religion, or sexual orientation. Builds on effective programs already in place and ensures there are consistent policies and practices backed by strong community partnerships and support. The erase Report It Tool allows any student in BC's public schools to fill out a form and report cases of bullying here, anonymously if desired, whether the student was a victim or a witness. The tool sends a message to the student's school or school district's safe school coordinator, who will follow-up on the situation right away. Students may also report other issues of concern at school through the report form.
