An Indigenous-led organization working to ensure that Indigenous peoples have full and equitable access to the tools, training, and support to maximize the opportunities presented by technology and innovation: focus is on digital skills development, connectivity, information management, and technical support and services. Provides a variety of programs that introduce Indigenous people to in-demand fields within the tech sector and equip students with the skills required for the digital economy. Curriculum has been developed by Indigenous education specialists alongside technical subject matter experts, and provides financial, cultural, and personal supports. Includes courses on introductory computing, digital entrepreneurship, marketing, fundamentals of computer hardware and software, and web development. The Technology Council sees the strengthening of local Indigenous economies and the empowering of Indigenous innovators as contributing to Indigenous self-determination and nationhood. These efforts can serve as a tangible form of reconciliation as we work towards a shared and sustainable future in Canada. Serves all 204 First Nations communities across British Columbia.
