Feminist-based harm reduction program to prevent harassment of those participating in nightlife in downtown Vancouver and other venues. Representatives are trained in non-violent crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills. Also provides education to patrons on consent culture and safe party tips, and training to industry staff. Good Night Out Street Team provides in-person patrolling and a safety presence to individuals participating in the nightlife on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver; patrols the street from midnight to 3:30 am on weekends. Street team provides support as needed as well as intervening in awkward situations, and ensuring patrons are safe including accompaniment to transit services, getting a cab, and reconnecting with friends. Works in partnership with councils, music festivals, licensing teams, women's groups, and charities to deliver training, consultation, and support. Training topics include harassment, sexual harassment and assault, de-escalation techniques, and nightlife harm reduction. Funded by City of Vancouver and Tourism Vancouver.
