Provides child protection and family support services to the Métis community and Métis families to increase their capacity to nurture and care for children in manner that supports family wellness and celebrates Metis history and culture. Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) delegated Aboriginal agency. Direct support services include child protection assessment and investigations and family service supports; guardianship and adoption placement for children in care of the director; recruitment, training, and support for caregivers and foster parents of Métis children; support services for youth on Youth Agreements; and Outreach Parenting Support program. Personal Healing and Parenting Program is a 12-week program that nurtures personal growth, healing, and traditional parenting skills. Program runs three times per year. Rapid Response Worker Program provides advocacy, information, and referral services for Metis families, and assists families with child protection concerns in coordination with MCFD. Services are based on a cultural case practice to meet the unique needs of the Métis community, emphasize family strengths, and incorporate cultural traditions. Other activities include cultural nights and youth circle nights for activities such as crafts, jigging, and drumming. Serves Delta, Ladner, Surrey, and White Rock. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society.
