Responsible for the production, marketing, processing, and merchandising of agricultural products and food. Monitors and supports an innovative, competitive, and socially and environmentally responsible agricultural and seafood production and post-processing sector in BC. Provides information, leadership, and technical and financial support leading to safe food production and processing in areas such as plant and animal health, pests and invasive species, sustainable and competitive production practices, emergency management for agriculture, contributions to the green economy, trade, and market access and development. Partners with Ministry of Health, Federal Government, other Canadian and foreign governments, First Nations, industry, and non-governmental organizations.
