Responsible for ensuring that quality, appropriate, cost-effective, and timely health services are available for all British Columbians. Working in conjunction with health regions, health care providers, agencies, and other organizations, MOH guides and enhances the province's health services to ensure that people in BC are supported in their efforts to maintain and improve their health. Provides leadership and support to health service delivery partners, and sets province-wide goals, standards, and expectations for health service delivery by health regions. First Nations Health, Fraser Health, Interior Health, Northern Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, and Island Health (listed independently) have primary responsibility for health service delivery. Provincial Health Services Authority is responsible for managing the quality, coordination, and accessibility of province-wide health agencies, programs and services in cooperation with health authorities and health care professionals. Office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
