Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA)

Ensures that BC residents have access to a coordinated network of high quality, specialized health care services. Operates provincial agencies: BC Cancer, BC Centre for Disease Control, BC Children's Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, BC Emergency Health Services, BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services, BC Renal Agency, BC Transplant, BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre, Cardiac Services BC, and Perinatal Services BC.

Specialized programs and services include BC Autism Assessment Network, BC Early Hearing Program, BC Surgical Patient Registry, Health Emergency Management BC, Indigenous Health, Lower Mainland Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Mobile Medical Unit, Provincial Infection Control Network of BC, Provincial Language Service, Provincial Retinal Disease Treatment, Services Francophones, Stroke Services BC, Trans Care BC, and Trauma Care BC. Through planning, coordinating, and evaluating specialized health services, works with other BC health authorities to provide health care for people who need services such as cancer treatment, management of a complex mental health problem, or cardiac care. Also works with health care providers to facilitate virtual patient care. Responsible for service delivery on behalf of Ministry of Health (MOH).
