A non-faith-based group of volunteers who patrol the Downtown Eastside on weeknights providing outreach after support services start closing for the day. Provides food items, harm reduction supplies, naloxone kits, toques, socks, gloves, scarves, jackets, thermal blankets, and basic sanitary and personal hygiene items. All teams have medics and are trained to provide emergency first aid and overdose response pending the arrival of BC Ambulance services, as well as providing care for trauma, injuries, bear spray, and minor wounds. Provides assistance filling out and submitting housing applications; referrals to detox, treatment, recovery houses, and SROs; and assistance with and referral to emergency and cold weather shelters, free food, and community resources. Can also assist in locating missing family members in the Downtown Eastside by circulating photos and contact information; reporting back to family is subject to the individual's explicit consent to communicate. Hours are approximately 8 pm to 12 midnight Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and 8 pm to 1 am Monday to Friday on cheque issue week. Nonprofit society.
