Supporting Women's Alternatives Network (SWAN) Vancouver Society
Provides free and confidential support to newcomer, migrant, and immigrant women (including transgender women) who are involved in indoor sex work in Vancouver area and women who have been trafficked. Services are culturally sensitive and language-specific, and include outreach, individual and systemic advocacy, education, and research. Also focuses on advancing the human rights of migrant sex workers and trafficked persons. Support workers have direct and indirect experiences with the indoor sex trade sector. Language services are in English as well as Cantonese and Mandarin. Serves Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, Vancouver, and White Rock. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
