Surrey Urban Mission Society (SUMS)

Partners with other organizations and faith communities to offer free meals for anyone in the community. Meals include breakfast (8 am to 9:30 am Sunday to Friday, 8:30 am to 10 am Saturdays), lunch (11:30 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday), and dinner (4:30 pm to 6 pm Sundays). Free bread and books are also available during meals. On Christmas Day, a dinner with gifts is served 11:30 am to 1 pm. Also provides free clothing, toiletries, and pet food between 11:30 am to 1 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Individuals from the community have access to showers when space is available between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm seven days a week. Also provides one-on-one assistance, advocacy, and outreach regarding housing search, rental subsidies and housing loss prevention, BC Housing applications and support, income assistance applications, income tax filing,and government ID acquisition and replacement. Office hours are 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Sunday.
