A newspaper and online resource published from September through June to help learners develop reading and language skills through newsworthy articles about living in British Columbia and Canada. Provides an introduction to Canadian daily newspapers, as well as an orientation for newcomers to aspects of Canadian life and culture. Available free to Community Adult Literacy Programs (CALP); ESL, EAL and ABE programs funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training; Literacy Outreach Coordinators (LOC) in BC; and BC Public Libraries. Other groups pay a small fee. Online resources include notes for teachers, exercises, contests, polls, videos, and links. Funded by Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
