Vancouver Association for the Survivors of Torture (VAST)

Provides services to refugees, and to displaced Ukrainians under Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET), who have experienced trauma as a result of torture, political violence, or other traumatic event. Provides trauma-focused one-on-one and group psychological counselling, as well as documentation of evidence of psychological trauma for the refugee claim process. Also provides referrals to community resources such as legal, health, housing, and settlement services. Provides refugee mental health training and education as well as advisory consultation for Lower Mainland refugee-serving organizations. Publishes the 'Voices Against Torture' journal. Programs and services are offered in multiple languages or English with interpretation services. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Serves individuals of all ages in Metro Vancouver. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
