Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation

Administers parks and recreation facilities in Vancouver. Facilities include fitness centres, swimming pools, ice rinks, gymnasiums, racquet and squash courts, public libraries, centres for seniors and youth, family drop-in centres, child care centres, and a preschool. Amenities include multi-purpose rooms; games rooms; art, dance, and pottery studios; martial arts rooms; a computer lab; a music studio; and exhibition and performance spaces. Outside facilities include track and sports fields, courts, diamonds, playgrounds, water parks, wading pools, skateboard parks, golf courses, destination gardens, and marinas. Recreation, social, and cultural programs are available for all ages and abilities including children, youth, families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Centres offer a wide variety of programs including parenting courses, parent support groups, and community kitchens.

Centres include Barclay Manor Seniors Centre, Britannia Community Services Centre, Champlain Heights Recreation Centre, Coal Harbour Community Centre, Creekside Community Recreation Centre, Douglas Park Community Centre, Dunbar Community Centre, False Creek Community Centre, Hastings Community Centre, Hastings Family Drop-in Centre, Hillcrest Aquatic Centre, Hillcrest Community Centre, Kensington Community Centre, Kerrisdale Community Centre, Kerrisdale Seniors Centre, Kerrisdale Cyclone Taylor Arena, Killarney Community Centre, Kitsilano War Memorial Community Centre, Lord Byng Pool and Fitness Centre, Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre, Mount Pleasant Community Centre, Ray-Cam Cooperative Centre, Renfrew Park Community Centre, Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, Strathcona Community Centre, Sunset Community Centre, Templeton Park Pool and Fitness Centre, 3 Corners Child Care Centre, Thunderbird Neighbourhood Community Centre, Trout Lake Community Centre, Vancouver Aquatic Centre, West End Community Centre, and West Point Grey Community Centre (Aberthau).
