Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society

Provides free transportation to and from cancer related medical appointments at cancer treatment facilities throughout the Lower Mainland. Priority is given to patients undergoing cancer treatments and follow-up care. Can provide transportation for children with cancer when they are accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Service area includes Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, West Vancouver, and White Rock. Service is pick-up and drop-off, but space is available for a personal attendant or family member/friend to accompany the client. Can accommodate car seats, walkers, and wheelchairs if dispatchers are notified. Booking and registration are by phone or online, as far in advance as possible. Within 24 hours, a dispatcher will call to confirm the appointment and arrange a driver with the client. Transportation is provided by volunteers. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
