2023 Wildfire and Drought Recovery Initiative

Provides BC producers with access to help in recovering from extraordinary expenses incurred as a result of drought and wildfire in 2023. Expenses may have been for livestock feed as a result of decreased pasture availability; ensuring animal, health, safety, and welfare; fire clean-up; transportation, mustering, and livestock mortality; replacing apiaries, bee colonies, and beekeeping equipment; or repair or replacement of critical infrastructure not covered by insurance. Not intended to compensate for production of farm losses. Application deadline is January 31, 2024. Initiative cost-shared between Government of Canada and Province of BC.
