Service Description

Aboriginal Leadership Opportunities Year provides one year of educational and leadership experience through the Royal Military College of Canada (Kingston, ON). Includes sports, field trips, leadership development, military training, cultural support activities, and tutorials for pre-university and first-year university courses. Participants are enrolled in the Canadian Forces (CF) for one year as an Officer Cadet and receive free tuition and books. To be eligible, participants must have completed Grade 12 (or Quebec Secondaire V), or have obtained a General Educational Development. Bold Eagle, Raven, Black Bear, Carcajou, and Grey Wolf is a six-week summer program that includes a salary and the opportunity to participate in military-type activities, including equipment and clothing. Also provides secondary school work or career experience credits. Must have completed at least Grade 10 (Secondaire IV in Quebec) Canadian Forces Aboriginal Entry Program is a three-week program for those considering a career in the CF. Participants get hands-on experience in military training and lifestyle with no obligation to join. Unless otherwise stated, to be eligible for all programs, participants must be Aboriginal, First Nation (status or non-status), Metis, or Inuit. Must be a Canadian citizen, be at least 17 years of age, have completed Grade 10 (or Quebec Secondaire IV), and meet the medical enrollment standard.
