Service Description

Provides services for Vancouver residents living with a print disability (visual impairment, learning disability, or physical disability that prevents the use of standard print) and/or mobility challenges that prevents a person from visiting the library for a minimum of three months. For print disabilities, provides an enhanced collection of audiobooks, described videos, electronic Braille, children's picture books with Braille, and large-print books. Offers flexible home delivery for homebound patrons and a book deposit service for care facilities. Additional formats are also available for people with print disabilities through three collections: the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA), the National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS), and InterLINK (MP3 audiobooks). To get to Accessible Services, enter the main library doors and go up the elevator or escalator one floor. Collections and staff are in the southeast corner of the building. The space is mobility-device accessible via elevator beside the outside staircase to the library atrium. Location hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.
