Service Description
Trauma-informed facility providing nine public beds and three private pay beds for residential social detox and supportive recovery services to women ages 19 and up; public beds available to anyone on Vancouver Island north of the Malahat. Women must be able to live communally and participate in groups, must be medically detoxed and stable, and can be on prescribed medications such as suboxone and methadone. Residential Social Detox focuses on withdrawal management, nutrition, sleep hygiene, addressing physical and mental wellness concerns, and creating healthy daily routines. Length of stay is seven to 10 days. Referral accepted from self or other. Supportive Recovery Services is a sheltered program with an emphasis on recovery from substance use. Rotates through a six-week Supportive Recovery Program, which includes substance use education, safety planning, relapse prevention skills, harm reduction, developing healthy routines and building supportive relationships, self-care, stress management, recreation, and life skills. Length of stay is four to 12 weeks. Referral accepted from self or other. Private pay beds open to BC; cost is $150 per day. Wheelchair accessible. Residential program and recovery house registered with Assisted Living Registry, Ministry of Health. Funded by Island Health.
