Animal Control

Administers and enforces regulations of Animal Care and Control Bylaw. Bylaws cover unleashed dogs or dogs running at large, vicious or attacking dogs, barking dogs, stray pets, lost pets, and impounded pets. Handles complaints about animals, including barking dogs, attacking or aggressive dogs, dog bites, and neglected or stray dogs. Issues dog licences and cat identification. Also provides pick-up of dead animals on roads and in public areas. Does not deal with abused domestic animals or injured wildlife. Hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, closed for statutory holidays.
