Service Description
Officers administer and enforce the Dog Tax and Regulation Bylaw for licensing, leashing, and scoop requirements, excessive barking, and loose or aggressive dogs. Provides temporary housing for lost pets; if a dog is licensed and wearing its tag, staff will contact owner to reunite them with their lost pet. Dog licences available at District Hall. Check website for animals currently available for adoption. The District picks up dead animals (domestic, strays, and wildlife) on streets; call the parks department (604-990-3808) for those found in parks. Office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
