Animal Services

Administers and enforces regulations of animal control bylaw. Issues include aggressive dogs, barking dogs, loose and unleashed dogs, neglected or stray cats and dogs, injured animals, impounded animals, lost animals, and pick up of dead animals on city property and parks. Also offers dog licences and pet adoptions. Cremation services are provided for a fee ($10 to $70 depending on size). Depending on capacity of shelter at the time, may be able to provide compassionate boarding (short-term and temporary shelter) of animals. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, seven days a week (closed statutory holidays). Visiting hours are 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, seven days a week (closed statutory holidays).
