Apprenticeship Grants

Service Description

Offers taxable cash grants to registered apprentices in a designated Red Seal trade. Eligible applicants are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person; not a high school student; a registered apprentice with an employer, trust fund, union trading centre, or joint apprenticeship training committee, and the apprenticeship authority; in a Red Seal trade program; and have completed a minimum of one year within an eligible apprenticeship program. The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) provides $1000 per year, up to a maximum of $2000 per person. The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women (AIG-W) provides $3000 per year, up to a maximum of $6000 per person, to self-identified women. The Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) provides a one-time grant of $2000 to registered apprentices who have completed their training and obtained a journeyperson certification. Phone hours are 4 am to 5 pm PST Monday to Friday. Applications can be submitted online, by mail, or in person at a Service Canada centre (see separate listings for locations and contact details).
