Service Description

Collects and distributes food on an emergency basis. If the need is ongoing, participants are issued a food hamper once a month and are encouraged to develop other self-help assistance. Distribution hours are 9:30 am to 11:45 am Monday to Thursday for families, seniors over age 60, youth, and pregnant individuals, and 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm Monday to Thursday for singles and couples without children; doors close at 12 noon and 3 pm. Home delivery may be available for people who are vulnerable or have mobility limitations and are unable to attend in-person appointments. Proof of income, proof of Abbotsford address, a medical card, and photo ID are required for a second hamper. The Christmas Bureau provides food hampers and gifts for families and seniors age 60 and older who live in Abbotsford and who are in a temporary crisis situation. Basics for Babies provides free baby supplies (including diaper cream, shampoo, wipes, and pacifiers), baby food, formula, and diapers for parents in Abbotsford who qualify for service. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
