Service Description

Protects individuals living in BC assisted living residences through the registration of residences, administration of assisted living health and safety standards, and investigation of complaints related to health and safety concerns. Seniors assisted living residences provide housing and support services for those who can live independently and make decisions on their own behalf, but require help with day-to-day activities such as meals, housekeeping, laundry, personal care, and medication; 24-hour emergency response, and social and recreational opportunities are also offered. Mental health and supportive recovery assisted living residences provide a safe environment for adults living with mental illness or recovering from substance use problems, enabling them to eventually move to more independent settings in the community; programs provide a broad range of housing and support services that may vary widely based on client need. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
