BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA) Extra Assistance - Health Supplements

Service Description

Provides eligible BCEA recipients with the following extra assistance related to health supplements and medical costs: diet/nutritional supplements related to a medical condition, natal supplement, medical equipment and supplies (including adult diapers), optical services, hearing instruments, orthoses, extended medical therapies, premium-free Medical Services Plan (MSP), alcohol and drug residential treatment, and dental and orthodontic services; see separate listing for the medical transportation supplement. The Guide Dog and Service Dog Supplement is provided to assist with the monthly maintenance of a certified guide dog team, service dog team, and/or retired guide or service dog team used by recipients (or their dependents) of income assistance, hardship assistance, or disability assistance. Phone service is available from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
