BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA) Extra Assistance - Health Supplements and Programs
Provides eligible BCEA recipients who meet the Ministry of Health's residency requirements with medical coverage through the Medical Services Plan (MSP) and no deductible PharmaCare coverage. Additionally, specified health supplements are provided to all BCEA recipients who meet the eligibility criteria for each supplement. Extra assistance related to health supplements and medical costs may include diet/nutritional supplements related to a medical condition, natal supplement, medical equipment and supplies (including adult diapers), optical services, hearing instruments, orthoses, extended medical therapies, alcohol and drug residential treatment, and dental and orthodontic services; see separate listing for the medical transportation supplement. The Guide Dog and Service Dog Supplement is provided to assist with the monthly maintenance of a certified guide dog team, service dog team, and/or retired guide or service dog team used by recipients (or their dependents) of income assistance, hardship assistance, or disability assistance. Phone service is available from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
