Better at Home - Surrey/Whalley

In partnership with SUCCESS, assists seniors who are in general good health, but require help with daily tasks to maintain independent living within their home and community as long as possible. Services may include grocery shopping, transportation to appointments and shopping (details below), light housekeeping, yard and home maintenance, and friendly visits. Fees are charged for some services on a sliding scale (based on income). Serves Whalley, Cloverdale, Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, South Surrey, and White Rock. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Government of BC.

Also provides transportation for seniors ages 65 and over living in Surrey. Service is available across Surrey for appointments (medical and other) and shopping. Can accommodate walkers. Service hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Wednesdays and Fridays. Pre-registration is required. Booking is required two weeks before trip; call between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Wednesdays and Fridays. 48 hours notice required to cancel trip. Cost to client is $10; pay direct with cash or cheque to the driver. Transportation provided by paid drivers. Service is available in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
