Better at Home - Vancouver (Renfrew-Collingwood)

Service Description

Provides non-medical home support services for older adults age 55 and over in the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood (between Broadway and East 41st Avenue, and Boundary Road and Victoria Drive). Services include light housekeeping, free grocery delivery, a subsidized frozen meals program in partnership with Heart to Home Meals, and group social trips. Program hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Services are offered on a sliding scale based on income level, with subsidy available. A walking club at 10:30 am Mondays and Wednesdays provides opportunities for socialization and exercise. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by the Province of BC and managed by United Way BC.

Group social trips to rotating locations are typically the second and last Friday of the month; cost is $5 per person per trip. Can accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, or scooters. Trips typically leave from Collingwood Neighbourhood House at 9:30 am and return to CNH at 1:30 pm. Pre-registration is required.
