Service Description

Provides youth with skills and support to face challenges in their lives. Website features wellness checks and personal stories that aim to end the stigma of anxiety, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and depression. Living Life to the Full for Youth is an eight-week interactive course for youth ages 13 to 18 works to improve mood and well-being and reduces stress and anxiety. Offers tools for building problem solving skills, anger and anxiety management skills, social support, self-esteem, and healthy thinking. Delivered by young adult facilitators through CMHA branches and community partner organizations. See website to sign up for a course. The Janice Lee Blue Wave Bursary is a post-secondary bursary program open to BC youth and young adults ages 20 and under who have experienced a significant mental health or substance use problem are are accessing treatment and support. Eligible individuals have lived in BC for at least a year from the date of application, and will be enrolled in first year studies at a recognized BC university, college, or technical institute by January 1st of the year after applying. Awards are $500 to $700 per recipient. See website to apply.
