Bridging to Employment - Burns Lake

Service Description

Offers a free 10-week program four times per year in Burns Lake for First Nations people age 16 and older who are unemployed or underemployed and looking for more education and skills. Incorporates cultural teachings of the Carrier and Sekani Nations and Indigenous learning modalities in a supportive classroom setting. Program includes training in resume, cover letter, interview, conflict resolution, money management, and communication skills. Also includes job readiness training and certifications including First Aid, Food Safe, Serving it Right, and First Host. Participants have the opportunity to complete work placements and explore options for further training. Classes are held 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
