A non-refundable tax credit that provides support for people who are caring for a spouse, common-law partner, or dependent with a physical or mental impairment. It is not available for non-infirm seniors who reside with their adult children or grandchildren. Eligible dependents are not required to live with the caregiver. The credit is claimed when income tax return is filed.
