No personal contributions to a RESP are required to receive assistance. Eligibility is based on the number of qualified children in the family, and adjusted income of the primary caregiver, including the income of a cohabitating spouse or common-law partner. Children must be born on or after January 1, 2004, be a resident of Canada, and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN). Eligible children can receive up to $2,000. See website for income eligibility amounts, participating RESP promoters, and a list of designated educational institutions.
