Cancer Information Service (CIS)

Service Description

A national, toll-free telephone service available to answer questions and give information about cancer treatment and side effects, clinical trials, coping with cancer, emotional support services, prevention, help in the community, and complementary therapies. Information on community support programs include those that provide home care, assistance with financial costs of cancer care, transportation, and travel expenses. Also offers a Peer Match Program that connects people living with cancer and caregivers with trained volunteers who offer encouragement and share ideas for coping. Service is available 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday in English and French; interpreter service is available for other languages.
