Cardiac Rehab and Disease Prevention

Service Description

The Cardiac Rehab Program provides cardiac rehabilitation for people who already have heart or blood vessel disease, and for people who are at risk of getting these diseases. With guidance from the health team, teaches participants to exercise, eat properly, manage stress, and take these skills back home. The Prevention Clinic is the main provincial clinic for people with inherited disorders of cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism, and is dedicated to preventing heart and blood vessel diseases and diabetes. Provides education about risk factors for heart attack, stroke, other blood vessel disease and diabetes, and reducing these risks through a combination of healthy diet and other lifestyle behaviours including exercise, and medications.
