Service Description

Offers various support services to the public. Offers visits and telephone care to patients with health conditions and their families in the home, hospital, or institutional setting in Burnaby, Richmond, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver, as well as visits to seniors in Metro Vancouver. Provides drop-in Health Care Services for seniors from registered nurses, dietitians, and volunteers who measure blood pressure and blood sugar. Offers lectures on topics like health, social opportunities, and other activities to seniors ages 60 and up from 10:45 am to 1:30 pm Wednesdays. Cancer Support Group for patients, survivors, caregivers and volunteers meets 2 pm to 4 pm on the third Saturday of each month. Brain Injury Support Group for affected people and their families meets 10 am to 12 noon on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Parents Support Group of Children with Special Needs meets 10:15 am to 12 noon on the last Monday of every month. Provides a Christian Caregivers of the Critically Ill training course. Offers employment and volunteer training for young people ages 17 and up with special needs. Services are available in Cantonese and Mandarin.
