Child and Youth Victim Support Program (CVSS)

Service Description

Provides victim services to children, youth under age 19, and their families, who are involved in any court process as a victim or witness, including those who have been sexually and/or physically abused. Provides support and advocacy, offers information about the court process and the criminal justice system, and provides court accompaniment and orientation. Offers assistance with victim impact statements and CVAP forms, emotional support, information and referral to other services, and assists the child's non-offending family members. Participation is voluntary, and may begin at any stage of the legal process. Office hours are 9 am to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am to 3:30 pm Fridays. Serves Burnaby and New Westminster. Funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
