Children of the Street

Works to prevent the sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children and youth in British Columbia through educational programs, public awareness initiatives, and family support. Workshops include presentations for students in grades 4 to 12 and presentations for parents, caregivers, and professionals who work with youth. Topics covered include consent, healthy and unhealthy relationships, online exploitation, signs of luring and grooming, human trafficking, safety tips, resources, and more. All workshops are free in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. For workshops outside these areas, host communities are requested to cover the costs of travel and accommodation. Honorarium towards the cost of presentations is appreciated. The program also provides support for parents and caregivers whose child is being sexually exploited, and referral services for youth being sexually exploited. Services are via phone, email, text, or virtual sessions. The program also works to raise awareness and advocates for change with all levels of government. Program hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
