Community and Family Services - Parksville/Mount Arrowsmith

Gives hope and support to vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of social services and practical assistance focusing on the basic necessities of life. Helps meet the immediate and short-term needs of people in distress through emergency assistance with food, and thrift store clothing and household goods vouchers, as well as lay counselling and emergency disaster services. Healthy Babies Program provides support for pregnant women and new mothers. The Children's Backpack Program provides school supplies for low-income families with children. Pro Bono Legal Advice offers legal consultation for low-income people who do not qualify for legal aid. Also operates food programs and thrift stores; listed separately. Serves the Mount Arrowsmith area, which includes Bowser, Coombs, Parksville, and Qualicum Beach. Office hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
