Service Description

Provides community-based victim services to women and transgender, nonbinary, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse individuals ages 13 and up who have experienced sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse (recent or historical), sexual harassment, or any form of sexualized violence. Services include information about legal rights and the criminal justice system; 24/7 hospital accompaniment and support; accompaniment to meetings with police, crown counsel, and court proceedings; advocacy with the criminal justice, police, and medical systems; and referrals to community services. Also provides assistance in completing Victim Impact Statements and applications for Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) benefits. Offers third party reporting to adult women, transgender, nonbinary, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse victims of sexual assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Delivers culturally appropriate practices and services for Indigenous individuals and trans-specific services for transgender, nonbinary, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse individuals. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
