Community Based Victims Assistance Program

Service Description
Provides culturally sensitive services to immigrant, refugee, and visible minority women who are or have been victims of sexual or physical abuse/assault, spousal assault, childhood abuse, stalking, hate crime or any other crimes, and children and youth who are victims of sexual or physical abuse, date rape, bullying, childhood abuse, stalking, hate crime and other violence. Services include emotional support; advocacy; orientation and information about the justice system; court, crown, and police accompaniment; information, referral, and liaison regarding other community services; and form completion assistance. Offers third party reporting to victims of sexual assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Services available in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Tagalog; inquire for other languages. Hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday; appointments preferred. Funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
