Service Description

Provides free English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program for refugee women of all ages to practice English, make friends and connections, gain self-confidence, and learn more about Canada. Helps women prepare for Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes. Program runs from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Burnaby Neighbourhood House (4460 Beresford Street), and from 9:15 am to 11:15 am on Wednesdays and Fridays at Edmonds Community School (7651 18th Avenue). Day care is available for women with children ages one-and-a-half up to five; available at both locations. Serves Vancouver, Surrey, New Westminster, and Burnaby.
