Empowerment groups for girls ages 10 to 21. Discussions include healthy relationships, violence prevention, bullying, media literacy, healthy body image, mental health, and self-care. Girls participate in crafts, applied theatre, and journaling, and develop skills in the areas of relationship violence prevention, disordered eating, and substance misuse. Groups are facilitated by adult facilitator and trained peer facilitator. Serves Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, and rural areas, including Denman Island and Hornby Island.
